Production volume in China in 2003 - 6,302 vehicles.

The BJC, founded in 1984 (57.6% of the shares belongs to BAIC, 42% - to DaimlerChrysler), has be­en producing Beijing Jeep cars since 1985. Production of the 5-seat Pajero Sport SUV with a 2.4-liter 128 hp or a 3.0-liter 167 hp V6 plant, started in December 2002. The 5-seat Outlander SUV with a 2.4-liter 135 hp unit was released at the beginning of 2004.
