Production volume in 2003 - 36,644 Fiat vehicles and 518 Zhongguo Nanjing cars. Established in 1997, the Nanjing Automotive Group Co. Ltd. (50%) partnership with the Malaysian Lion Group (remaining 50%) purchased a license to produce the old Seat Ibiza. In January 1999, the Lion Group sold its shares to Fiat, creating the Jiangsu Nanya Auto was established, which from June 1999 to October 2003 produced the NJ 6400 GHR Eagle hatchbacks based on the Seat, and the NJ 6400 GHA Unique glazed vans, under the Zhongguo Nanjing make. The Chinese Fiat Palio with a 1.2-liter 60 hp, a 1.2-liter 80 hp, or a 1.5-liter 85 hp engine, debuted in November 2001. The Siena sedan (a 1.2-liter 80 hp, a 1.5-liter 85 hp unit) came out in October 2002 and the Palio Weekend station wagon (a 1.2-liter 80 hp or a 1.5-liter 85 hp engine) - in June 2003. The Palio II will be released in 2007.
