Production volume in 2003 - 52,017 vehicles. In 1992, Jiangsu Yueda Auto Works started pro­ducing the Daqiao YQZ 6500 microbuses, and in 1997 – assembling the Kia Pride. In 1999, Jiang­su Yueda and Kia founded the (50% / 50%) Yueda Kia Motors partnership, which produced the Yueda Kia Pride YQZ 6390 sedans and the Pride YQZ 6370 / YQZ 7141 hatchbacks from 1999 to December 2003. In March 2003, the Dongfeng Motor Corporation took over 25% of the shares in the company (further 50% belongs to Kia, and 25% - to Jiangsu Yueda), since then called Dongfeng Yueda Kia Motors, and the cars are sold under the Dongfeng Yueda Kia make. The Qianlima sedan with a 1.3-liter 83 hp and a 1.6-liter 104 hp engine (restyling in 2003 and in January 2005), based on the Hy­undai Accent of 1993-1999, debuted in November 2002. The Chinese 7-seat Carnival sedan (with a 3.5-liter 190 hp engine) came out in June 2004, the Optima sedan (a 2.0-liter 137 hp unit) was re­leased in September 2004, and the Cerato sedan with a 1.6-liter 104 hp and 1.8-liter 130 hp plant -in August 2005. The vehicles are used with 80% oflocal parts. Another production plant in Yan-cheng/Jiangsu will be opened in 2006. In 2010, production is planned for 430,000 vehicles a year.
