Production volume in 2003 -15,812 pick-ups. In
December 1996
Toyota
launched the production of the Hilux pick-up in Argentina. In February the
model gave way to the totally new 2- and 5-seat Hilux pick-up, based on the Thai
Hilux Vigo, released in 2004. The car, with a 4x2 or 4x4 drive, is equipped with TD
2.5-liter 102 hp or 3.0-liter 163 hp engines.
