Production volume in Brazil in 2003 - 39,475 vehicles.
In December 1958, Toyota initiated Brazilian production
of the off-road Bandeirante, which had been produced until 2001. Production of the Corolla
started in 1998 and was replaced in 2002 with a completely new Corolla sedan featuring a
1.6-liter 110 hp power plant or a 1.8-liter
136 hp engine, based on the model produced since 2002 in the USA. The
Corolla Fielder station
wagon with a 1.8-liter 136 hp unit was
introduced in April 2004.
