Cab), D-Max Crew Cab pick-up.
Production volume in the Philippines in 2003 -110,700 all-terrain vehicles
and 1,550
pick-ups.
Francisco was the original assembly firm for
Isu-zu vehicles in the Philippines from 1965-74, followed in October
1978 by the GM
Philippines joint venture. In 1989 Isuzu Motors Philippines re-launched construction of
Isuzu vehicles, later acquired by the newly established Isuzu Philippines
joint venture in August 1995 (35% of shares Isuzu-ow-ned). In 2001 the new 10-seater
Crosswind, restyled in October 2004, was introduced with diesel engines of 2.5 liters and 81 hp or TD 2.5 liters providing
85 hp, effectively
replacing the Hi-Lander. In June 2005 the Altera SUV premiered with a diesel 3.0-liter 146 hp engine, a model
identical to the Thai MU-7. The program also includes: the SUV Trooper (TD
3.0-liter 160 hp) and Fuego 4x4/4x2 pick-up with a diesel 2.5-liter 78 hp or TD 2.8-liter 100 hp plant (=Japanese
Pick-up TF series made from 1997-2004). The Philippine D-Max Crew Cab pick-up debuted in
November 2003
with
aTD 3.0-liter 130 hp engine.
