Production volume in the Philippines in 2003 - 13,650 vehicles.

Originally Ford cars were assembled in the Philippines in the years 1955-85. In September 1999 Ford

re-launched production of the Lynx sedan, which was restyled in 2002 and 2004. The vehicle comes with a 1.3-liter 85 hp or 1.6-liter 118 hp unit based on the 1998 Mazda 323 and is exported to Tha­iland and Indonesia as the Laser Tierra (1.6-liter 107 hp or 1.8-liter 122 hp). In 2003 the Lynx RS / Laser Tierra RS was introduced with a 2.0-liter 142 hp plant and new front end. In 2005 the Philippi­ne Focus was released and is designated for export to Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. In 2002 pro­duction on the Ford Escape was launched (with a 3.0-liter 197-206 hp V6 unit or a 2.3-liter 157 hp engine), restyled in August 2004.
