Production volume in Mexico in 2003 - 51,666 vehicles.

GM started the manufacture of the following Pontiac vehicles in Mexico in 1996: Sunfire Sedan / Coupe SE with a 2.2-liter 141 hp engine. In 2000 the exclusively Mexican production of the cross--country, recreational Aztek model began (4x2 or 4x4 drive, 3.35-liter 188 hp V6 engine). The Korean Daewoo Matiz (1.0-liter 62 hp) has been sold in Mexico since the end of 2003 under the Pontiac trade name.
