Models assembled in Malaysia: Pajero, Storm Double Cab pick-up.

Assembly volume in Malaysia in 2003 - 1,300 all-terrain vehicles and 3,300 pick-ups. Mitsubishi vehicles have been assembled in Malaysia since the late 1970s and are currently built by Malaysian Truck & Bus. As of 1991 a 5-door, 7-seater Pajero 4x4 station wagon has been assembled, a model identical to the Japane­se Pajero Classic of 1991. The vehicle is offered with the following engines: a 2.4-liter 132 hp; 3.0-liter 148 hp; D 2.5-liter 72 hp or D 2.8-liter 125 hp. Starting in 1998 the company has also assembled Thai L 200 pick-ups under the name Storm Double Cab 4x4 with 3.0-liter 148 hp V6 or TD 2.5-liter 120 hp units. Since 1979 the cars have been sold by USF-Hicom (known until 2002 as United Straits Fuso Sdn Bhd).
