produced its latest Honda Civic sedan from February 2001 to the beginning of 2004. In November 2000 the new joint
venture Honda-DRB--Oriental (49% Honda, 36% DRB-Hicom, 15%
Oriental Holdings) was founded, which since 2002 has been known as
Honda Malaysia. The company launched production of the second generation CR-V
(2.0-liter 156 hp) in its new factory in December 2002, located in Pegoh. The vehicle
replaced the first generation SUV Cr-V of 2000. Built in 1996-2002, the City was
replaced in 2003 by the second generation City with an engine of 1.5 liters and 88-110 hp (=Thai City of 2002). In May 2004
the restyled Civic
premiered with a 17-liter
130 hp or 2.0-liter 155 hp units. Produced
since 1997,
the
Accord was replaced in 2003 by a completely new Accord sedan with a 2.0-liter 150 hp or 2.4-liter 160 hp plant. These
vehicles are identical to the 2003 Accord from Thailand, from which a 3.0-liter V6
version is imported.
