In 1954 Mercedes-Benz started the assembly of trucks and
buses in 1954,
and
went on to produce them in 1956. Production of A class vehicles began at the new
production plant in Juiz de Fora in 1998. The vehicles are equipped with 1.6-liter
102 hp or 1.9-liter 125 hp units. Chrysler cars were
produced in Brazil between 1967 and 1969, and
Dodge cars - in the years 1969-81 and 1998-2001.
