Production volume in Japan in 2003: 3,086,559 passen­ger cars (including the Lexus and Scion, excluding CKD kits) and approx. 108,000 pick-ups. In 1918, Sakichi Toyoda established Toyoda Spinning & Weaving Co. Ltd. (since 1926 - Toyoda Automatic Loom Works). In 1935, the first 20 Toyota G1 trucks and A1 passenger cars were constructed, and in 1937 Toyota Motor Co. was established. At present, the concern offers

In China, the Hiace model has been produced under license, as the Jinbei, the Platz model - under the FAW Tianjin make, in the USA, the Matrix model - under the Pontiac Vibe name, in Iran, the Land Cruiser 70 - under the Fath make.
