AIL STORM M 240 MILITARY
Program: Storm M 240 (station wagon and
convertible), Storm M 240 Military (station wagon and convertible), Desert
Raider.
Production volume in 2003 - 1,100 all-terrain
vehicles.
The consortium Automotive Equipment Group,
established its branch called Automotive Industries Limited in 1966, which until the
mid-90s assembled Ford vehicles: the Escort, Transit, Cargo and LTS 900; Dodge trucks - D 100 / 500, W 200 / 600 and finally
AM
General, International and Freightliner trucks. In the 80s AIL started the production of
its originally designed trucks named M 325 (later, replaced by the Abir
M-462 model) and of the Storm M 240 jeeps. They are offered in both civilian and military
versions. The latter come with different body styling under the name Storm M 240 Military and are
offered as a 4- to 6-seater Hard Top station wagon, a 4- to 6-seater Soft Top convertible
or an 8-seater Hard Top Long. The Storm M 240 models can be equipped with one
of the following engines: a 4.3-liter 180 hp petrol unit or a 107 hp diesel plant. The
company’s original, 3-seater, 6x6 model named Desert
Raider is also offered by the AIL firm.
