Swift, Ignis.
Production volume in Hungary in 2003 - 84,175 vehicles.
In 1991, Suzuki and three Hungarian companies (with
Suzuki share capital of 49,9%), established the company, which produced the model
Swift (1992
- 2003) and
a minivan named Wagon R+ (1999 -2004). In 2000 Suzuki increased its share
volume from 77,3% to 88,9% and in 2002 started the production of the Ignis model. Engines available in the
Ignis: 1.3-liter 93 hp, 1.5-liter 99 hp petrol plants and
a 1.25-liter 69 hp diesel unit. The
new generation of the model called Swift II, shown at the Paris Motor Show in 2004 and launched to
production in December the same year, is equipped with one of the following
engines: 1.3-liter 91 hp, 1.5-liter 102 hp petrol power plants or one 1.25-liter 69 hp diesel unit. The production
of a small SUV vehicle, which will be sold both under Suzuki (app. 40,000 cars a year) and
Fiat (app. 20,000 cars a year) name, is planned to start in 2005.
