BWE HORNET

Program: Hornet, Locost, Maelstrom.

BWE took over production of the Lotus Seven re­plica (1957-73) called the Hornet from T&J in 1993. Presently, the Hornet is offered as a kit car adapted to the systems of the Ford Cortina Mk 3/4/5 and to the 1.1-liter, 1.5-liter 54 hp or 1.6-liter 84 hp engines from the Ford Escort. Then, in 2000, production of the Lotus Seven replica - the Locost model - was taken over from White Rose

in 2000. This kit car is adapted to the systems and engines (1.1-liter, 1.3-liter 54 hp, 1.6-liter 84 hp)

from the Ford Escort MkI/MkII or the Ford Sierra. The original Maelstrom with engines from the Italian

Lancia was released in 2002.
