W. O. Bentley built his first sport car- the „3-litre” in 1919
and started its production in 1921. In 1931 the company
went bankrupt and was taken over by Rolls-Royce.
In 1998
the VW
consortium bought out the companies Bentley and Rolls-Royce. Since 2003 Rolls-Royce has belonged
to BMW.
