Production volume in 2003 - 4,092 vehicles. In 1975 Arola company
launched the production of city cars which can be operated without a driving
license. In 1983 production was taken over by Aixam. In 1997 the company unveiled the 2-seat
300 /
400 model,
similar to the Renault Twingo. After a facelift in 2000 it was nicknamed Evolution, and
since the update in 2002 it has been marketed as the Berline. The model comes in the following
versions: 400.4 (Kubota 400-ccm 5.4 hp diesel; 45 km/h), 500.4 (stretched by 30 cm; Kubota 400-ccm 5.4 hp diesel, 45 km/h)
and 500.5 (stretched;
Lombardini 505-ccm 21 hp, 75 km/h or Kubota 479-ccm 12.9 hp diesel, 75 km/h). At the 1998 Paris Motor Show, the Cabriolet
MAC made its debut, presently available in three versions: 340 (Lombardini 338-ccm 8 hp), 400 (Kubota 400-ccm 5.4 hp diesel,
45 km/h) and 500 (Kubota 479-ccm 12.9 hp diesel, 75 km/h). At the 2002 Birmingham Motor
Show, AIXAM presented the Minivan and Pick-up models, which come in two
versions: 500.4 (Kubota 400-ccm 5.4 hp diesel, 45 km/h) and 500.5 (Kubota 479-ccm 12.9 hp diesel). In
September 2004 new models were launched: the 2-seat A 721 / A 741 (Kubota 400-ccm 5.4 hp diesel) and the 4-seat A 751 (Kubota
479-ccm 12.9 hp diesel). The 2004 Paris Motor Show saw
the premiere of the 2-seat Scouty cabrio (Kubota 479-ccm 12.9 hp diesel).
