Production volume in Egypt in 2003 - 1,219 vehicles.
The company was established in 1977. Atotal of 49% of AAV shares belong
to Chrysler, 51% to the Egyptian Arab Organization for Industry. In December 1998 the company started
the assembly of the Jeep CJ5. The old Cherokee model, which went into
production in 1992, was replaced by a new model with the same name in June 2001. The vehicle,
incorporating 45% of indigenous components, is fitted with a 2.4-liter 150 hp or a 3.7-liter 210 hp V6 engine. Since
August 2003
the
company’s product range has included
the original, open, 10-seat Jeep TJL (MV), housing a 4.0-liter 181 hp power plant.
