Production volume in Egypt in 2003 - 1,663 vehicles.
Prima Engineering, a partnership formed between
Hyundai and Ghabbour concern, launched the CKD assembly operations of the Excel
in 1995.
In 1998 the model was
replaced by the Accent sedan, with a 1.3-liter 70 hp power plant, released in
Korea in the years 1994-99. (Currently, 50% of the model’s components are made in
Egypt.) In
2003 the Vectra was introduced, with a 1.6-liter 106 hp engine, identical
to its Korean namesake from 1999. Between 2000 and 2002 AAV company produced the Sonata sedan
