The company, established in 1982, has produced replicas of the Lotus Seven (1957-73) since 1983. The cars are equipped with Ford Zetec 1.8-liter 140 hp, 1,8-liter 190 hp or 2.0-liter 190 hp engines also as kit cars. The version featuring the 1.8-liter 190 hp unit reaches a top

speed of 220 km/h (0-100 in 4.8 s.). Since 2003 the Birkin S3 has been also available with

a Duratec power plant of 200 hp (S 3 Pro Torque version) or 250 hp (S3 Super Torque version).

Birkin vehicles are assembled in Great Britain by Birkin Europe and in Australia by PRB.
