The South African TFM company was taken over by Reumech in 1998, then by Vickers, and in October 2002 - by the British armored vehicle manufacturer, Alvis PLC. The RG-32 Scout vehicle, produced for many years, was replaced by the new, 5-seat Scout 2 SUV model, equipped with a Detroit 3.75-liter 136 hp diesel engine in 2003. The 7-seat, off-road Wasp vehicle, available with a Detroit 2.8-liter 143 hp diesel unit, has been produced for the Army for many years by this company. At the turn of 2001 and 2002, the Mamba model was replaced by the military, 10-seat RG-31 model (6-seat pick-up optional), which features a Mercedes-Benz 6.0-liter 170 hp diesel plant. The company’s program also includes the following military, armored vehicles: the 5-seat RG-31 M with a Detroit 174 hp diesel and the 5-seat RG-32 M with a Detroit 135 hp diesel engine.
