In 1996 Hyundai started production of the
Excel sedan in Venezuela, which was replaced in
1999 by the Accent model (=Korean Accent
1994-99), powered by 1.3-liter 82 hp or 1.5-liter
91 hp engines. The same car has been produced
since 2002 under the name Dodge Brisa for DaimlerChrysler.
In June 2003,
another
sedan was added
to the production offer - the Elantra with a 2.0-liter 141 hp engine.
