The company has been manufacturing kit cars,
since 1965
originally
based on the VW Beetle, and since 1991 on their own, prototypal chassis B4 and CB5,
fitted to house engines with a power output ranging from 150 to 350 hp. Since 1982 they have been
producing the sporty Sonic on Albar B4 or VW Beetle chassis with a VW or
Renault engine delivering up to 250 hp. Twenty--six vehicles of this model were built in
the years 1982-2002. Reminiscent of the Beetle, the Bricar is a 2-seat speedster. Albar is
also a producer of five different Buggies, each having a different, original
chassis. All vehicles are available as kit or ready-built cars. The company
offers VW Beetles remodeled into cabrios, which are available in the standard
version or three tuned versions - LC, S, ES.
