In 1970, Mazda entered the US market. Established in
January 1985,
the
Mazda Motor Manufacturing (USA) Corporation started the production of the Mazda
MX-6 in September 1987, in January 1988 - of the Ford Probe, and from September 1989 to 2002
consecutive generations of the 626 sedan were produced.
In June 1992,
Ford
took over 50% of the company, and the new company took the name AutoAlliance
International Inc. In the years 1988-1998, the company produced the consecutive two generations
of the Ford Probe, in the years 1998-2002 - the Mercury Cougar, and since 2004, the Ford Mustang of
the fifth generation has rolled off production lines. Since May 1993, Ford has been
producing the B series
pick--ups for Mazda, and since May 2000 - the Tribute SUV Latest premieres: Detroit 2003 - Washu concept car;
Geneva 2003 - MX Sportif concept car; Frankfurt 2003
