In the years 1899-1903 David Buick designed
a few prototypes. In May 1903, he established the Buick Motor Company and presented
the Runabout model, which in 1904 went into production. Also in 1904 the company
was bought by William C. Durant, who in 1908 established the
General Motors Company. In the same year, Buick was incorporated in the new
concern. Buick vehicles are produced in the USA, Canada (since 1951), Mexico (since 2001), and China (since 1998 under the
make

produced.
