Oyak Renault, formed in 1969, launched the production of the Renault 12 in 1971, which remained in

the program till 1999. In 1992 Renault increased its stake in Oyak from 40 to 51%. In September 1999

the Clio Symbol was launched in Turkey, restyled in 2002 (exported as the Clio Classic or Thalia), fitted with 1.4-liter 75 hp, 1.4-liter 98 hp or D 1.5-liter 65 hp power plants (170-186-162 km/h). In the years 1997-2003 the company rolled out the Megane I Classic sedan, and in the years 1998-2003 - the Megane I Wagon. In July 2003 Turkey, as the only country, launched the production of the Megane II with a broad selection of engines including: 1.4-liter 82-98 hp, 1.6-liter 115 hp, 2.0-liter 136 hp petrol plants, and two diesels: 1.5-liter 82-101 hp and 1.9-liter 90-120-130 hp.
