Production volume in Turkey in 2003 - 140 cross-country vehicles and 444 pick-ups.

Established in 1963, the company originally produced busses and trucks under license from Magirus-Deutz. Nowadays Otokar releases ingenously designed busses. Since 1987 they have also been manufacturing the Turkish Land Rover Defender, marketed as the Otokar Land Rover Defender 90 / 110 / 130, with a 2.5-liter 83 hp, a 3.5-liter 134 hp or a D 2.5-liter 111 hp engine.
