Operating since 1960, the company initiated the assembly of Mercedes-Benz utility vehicles in 1961. Passenger cars were introduced in 1979. In 1999 the company launched the S 280 (2.8-liter

201 hp), in 2001 - the latest Class C sedans: C 180 (2.0-liter 129 hp) and C 200 K (2.0-liter 163 hp).

Since 2003 the program has also comprised the newest Class E sedans (W 211): E 200 K (1.8-liter 163 hp) and E 240 (2.6-liter 177 hp).
