Titovi Zavodi Litostroy started the assembly of Renault vehicles in Yugoslavia in the late 1960s. Based on the agreement from September 1972, the IMV company (a producer of IMV delivery vehicles) started in February 1973 the assembly and then the production of the Renault 4 model, which was manufactured till December 1992 (in France in the years 1961-87). In June 1988 IMV and Renault merged and established the Revoz company. Renault acquired 20.2% of Revoz in June 1990, increasing its stake to 54% in 1991, 66.68% in 2001 and 100% in December 2003. The Renault Clio, produced since 1993, was replaced in 1998 by the Clio II, which underwent restyling in April 2001. The exclusively local production of the Twingo II (X 44) model will begin in 2006, reaching an annual production level of 210,000 in 2007.
