Assembly volume in Russia in 2003 - 5,896 vehicles.
Founded in 1890, the Aksay company assembled
Oldsmobile vehicles in the years 1904-16. In the years 1995-2000 Daewoo cars under
the Doninvest brand were assembled there. From September 1999 to 2002, the company built
the Citroen Berlingo as the Doninvest Orion M. Aksay belongs to the Doninvest
holding, which in 1998 also started assembly at the TagAZ combine harvester manufacturing plant
in Taganrog. In July 2001 at the TagAZ plant, Doninvest started SKD assembly, and in December 2002 - CKD assembly of
Hyundai Accent cars with 1.5-liter 102 hp engines. In March 2004, the Russian Sonata entered the
market with 2.0-liter 132 hp or 2.7-liter 178 hp power plants.
