Production volume in 2003 - 39,966 passenger cars and
50 vans / pick-ups.
In 1976, KAMAZ started the series production of
trucks, and in 1985 demonstrated the prototype of
the passenger vehicle KAMAZ Oka 1111. The first 100 cars were produced in December 1987. At the 2003 Moscow Motor Show,
KAMAZ showed the Oka 11113 model with a Daewoo engine, and at the
2004 Moscow Motor Show -
the Oka Ledi. In March
2005 KAMAZ sold 74,25% of its shares to
Severstal company (the owner of UAZ). The successor to the Oka has been
scheduled for release no earlier than 2006.
