In October 2002 44,6% of Daewoo shares
were acquired by General Motors, 14.9% by Suzuki, 10.6% by Chinese firm SAIC and 29.9% by banks - even the name of the
company was changed to GM Daewoo. Since 2003 GM Daewoo, alongside
vehicles under the Daewoo trademark, has also produced Chevrolets for sale on
the US and Canadian markets as well as in some countries of Africa, Asia, South
America and Eastern Europe and since January 2005 in Western Europe. Daewoo
vehicles are also built under the Chevrolet trademark in India (since 2003), Thailand (since 2003), China (starting in
2003), Ukraine (as of 2004), Colombia (since 2004), Venezuela (since 2004) and Pakistan (as of 2005). Latest premieres:
