Established in 1952 the firm has assembled the
Dacia 1100
under
the license of the Renault 8 from August 1968 till 1971. In August 1969, the production of the Dacia 1300 model started (the
Renault 12
license).
This particular model, with many modernizations, was produced until
July 2004 in the following versions: 1300 / 1301 (1969 -
1984), 1300 Break (1973-84), 1310 (1979-2004), 1210 / 1410 (1983 - the 90s), 1310 Break (1980-2004), 1310 /
1410 Sport
coupe (1981-92),
1320 CN1
/ 1325 Liberta hatchback (1988-96). A small 500 Lastun model was
first shown in 1982 and built in the years 1989-91. In the years 1995-2003 the Nova / Super Nova sedan was
produced, and in 2003-2005 - the Solenza. In July 1999, Renault took over 51% of Dacia shares, increasing
this
figure in 2000 to 73,29%, at the turn of 2000/2001 - to 80,14%, in 2001 - to 92,72%, and in 2003 - to 99%. In 2003, the
assembly of the
Dacia in Ukraine started, and in 2005 - also in Russia, Morocco and Colombia. In June 2004 the new Logan sedan
made its debut. Plans for the future: 2006 - Logan station wagon, Logan minivan and Logan
pick-up. Long-range plans of the company: production volume of 700,000 Dacia vehicles in 2010, including 200,000 cars to be
produced
locally.
