Set up in February 1996, PT Timor (31% of which belongs to Kia) has assembled the Kia Sephia I under the Timor trademark on and off from 1997-2001. In 2003 assembly of the Shuma sedan was initiated (identical to the Korean Spectra sedan made in the years 1997-2002), equipped with a 1.8-liter 110 hp engine, as well as on the Carens minivan (1.8-liter 130 hp). From 2003-04 the Sportage I SUV was also part of the assembly range. Kia vehicles are sold by Kia Mobil Indonesia.
